2024 Agriculture Innovation Initiative In Review
2024 Key Milestones and Celebrations
The Agriculture Innovation Initiative is in full swing, and we have so much to celebrate in 2024.
Throughout the year we engaged with stakeholders and donors to ensure we create spaces to meet current and future needs.
Construction fences went up, equipment moved in to take down Weber Arena, and our deans answered questions and engaged with students at Demo Day with Deans.
We broke ground for the Global Center for Grain and Food Innovation with industry leaders, donors and on-campus partners.
Construction started and has quickly advanced on the Bilbrey Family Event Center.
The State of Kansas is partnering with us and has announced an additional $25 million in matching funds.
We celebrated the efforts of our construction teams with Call Hall ice cream socials.
The Agronomy Research and Innovation Center officially has moved dirt and started construction on the first phase of buildings.
We hit the deepest point of construction for the Global Center for Grain and Food Innovation. We celebrated this milestone with a “bottoming out” luncheon, knowing that progress will only move upward from here.
As the Bilbrey Family Event Center construction moved forward, we gathered with students, youth, industry partners, donors, staff and faculty to sign a beam that will be prominently placed in the new arena!
We are finishing the year by raising 89% of the funds needed to meet our overall campaign goal for all the facilities and upgrades.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed, celebrated and constructed these exciting new facilities and upgrades through the Agriculture Innovation Initiative.
As we move into 2025, we have a lot to celebrate. We are excited for the next two years, when we’ll see students in classrooms, researchers in labs and new partnerships thriving in spaces designed to celebrate agriculture and innovation!
