Research and Extension
Our innovations and education have been changing agriculture for more than 150 years.

Agriculture is challenged with feeding an ever-growing world population; creating new plant-based fibers and biofuels in ways that are more efficient, equitable and protect our natural resources.
Our scientists aggressively focus on scientific areas that address agriculture's greatest needs; reflect our greatest strengths; and have the greatest potential for bringing sustainable, long-term improvement and changes lives for the better.
Carnegie Classifications of Institutions of Higher Education identifies K-State as a school with "very high research activity."

Success in research
Since 2014 The College of Agriculture and K-State Research and Extension have consistently had annual research expenditures of more than $100 million.
Research expenditures are the funds spent to conduct research and are the most frequently cited numbers for comparing research levels among colleges and universities.
