Student Handbook Course drops and withdrawals
Withdrawing from K-State can have a number of consequences beyond leaving your courses. There are several items for students to consider. Prior to withdrawing, please review the academic calendar for withdrawal and refund deadlines.
- Withdrawing from Classes Before the Semester Begins
- Students may drop themselves from all classes in KSIS prior to the first day of each academic term.
- Withdrawing from Classes After the Semester has Begun
- To drop all classes after the semester has begun, students must complete the university’s withdrawal form and email the completed form to the Academic Dean’s Office (agrecords@ksu.edu).
Appeal for Late Drop/Withdrawal After Deadline
- Appeal for Late Withdrawal After Deadline Students requesting to withdraw from a class or classes for which the withdrawal deadline has passed are required to fill out the late drop/withdrawal appeal form and work with their academic adviser and College Dean's Office (agrecords@ksu.edu) for signatures and submission to the University Late Drop/Withdrawal Committee.
Students are strongly encouraged to review the university’s guidance for writing an effective appeal letter.
